About Rachael

I started off my journey of watercolour illustration in 2017. I decided to start a series of paintings of my beagle, Bella, which is how 'Life's a Beagle' came along. after a while, i then branched out to other fun subjects to paint

when i was in college, studying fine art, I actually never used water colour and always stuck to using oil and acrylic paint or just drawing in chalk and charcoal.

one day, I was given a box of old water colour painting things from my late grandad (he was a water colour painter - mainly of landscapes and old buildings) I decided to practise and make use of them.

I realised how much i loved using them and have never looked back!

I have had many commissions of peoples pets over the last few years which has been really fun and I've been able to be quite creative with the portraits and making them totally unique.

​

I spend most of my time in my little cottage in Great Wakering sketching and painting new designs to add to my current range of greeting cards, gifts and prints.
